THE AUCTION
Dear
Friends:
What a
night! May 29th saw the Bid on the Boys bachelor
auction truly support the girls!
To those who so generously sponsored the event – thank you.
Your donations meant the Bid raised the bar when it comes to
fundraising and Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada
is so grateful for all you did to make the evening a
success.
To our bachelors…what can we say? Everyone was thrilled
with your packages and only sorry you could not deliver them
personally! You captured the spirit of the evening…fun-draising
at its best. You are the finest examples of how men give to
help others in need and we appreciate your time and
enthusiasm. Thank you.
Springstreet Communications spent endless hours promoting
and organizing the event and we gratefully acknowledge Barb,
Karen and Pam for their dedication.
Finally, to the Volunteer Committee who worked tirelessly
for months in advance to ensure everything was superb –
thank you. You missed countless dinners with your family,
hours of homework with your children and time you might have
spent on yourself…just to share your passion and compassion
with others. You are brilliant.
Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada measures the success of
any event not by the dollars raised but by the number of
Canadians we will help as they learn to live with breast
cancer. The funds raised at the 2009 Bid on the Boys event
mean:
-
A woman living on a prairie
ranch in the middle of winter can call Willow’s
toll-free line and speak with someone who has had
breast cancer herself and understands how difficult
it is to be alone.
-
A father
can email Willow for suggestions on how to help his
daughter cope with the effects of chemotherapy.
-
A sister
can obtain information about genetic testing because
she is concerned about hereditary breast cancer.
To all
who made the event a bid for support while we wait for a
cure….thank you.
Warm
regards,

Virginia
